This is an OPEN WATER SWIM in a spectacular spring-fed lake.  The inaugural race in 2009 received raves from open-water enthusiasts.  This event is in a beautiful site, and provides swimmers one last great swim to end the season.

Specific start times will be announced on race day, following this general schedule:

10K Races:  9:00 AM EDT/8:00 AM CDT

5K Races: 10:00 AM EDT/9:00 AM CDT

2.5K Races:  11:00 AM EDT/10 AM CDT

Course Closes at 1:00 PM EDT/12:00 AM CDT

Separate awards will be given for wetsuit/non-wetsuit divisions. Swimmers should be present at least 45 minutes before their start time.

Wetsuits are recommended, although dependent on race-day conditions and individual racer choice. Separate awards will be given for wetsuit/non-wetsuit divisions.

·        $50.00 Individual Participant registering on or before August 20, 2010

·        $60 through September 18

·        $70.00 Individual deck entries

·        $5.00 for post-race barbecue

This will not be a sanctioned event.

The DLOC organizers listen to our participants!  Based on our survey of participants from last year, we've made numerous enhancements to make your race-day experience even better.

The new and improved course will be a rectangular shape adjacent to an island in a spring-fed lake.  It will not go around the island as it did the first year. This will allow swimmers and safety personnel a better line of site for the course.

We will have large visible buoys marking the course and boat support.

Note later start time than 2009, allowing swimmers more time to travel to the race site.

Parking and transportation to the island logistics will be posted on the website and communicated to registered participants.

We hope you will join us and help spread the word.  Questions, email Craig Strong at coachcraiget@gmail.com.
